Our introductory course deals with real world issues facing New Zealand drivers on a daily basis.
We set the tone in the classroom with simple yet informative lectures before moving into a range of practical driving exercises in a safe, controlled environment. This give drivers the opportunity to experience first-hand simulated emergency situations.
Participants in this course can expect to learn the following:
- Practical driving drills
- Emergency heavy braking (ABS skills)
- Emergency avoidance techniques (braking & swerving)
- Spatial awareness & depth perception exercises
- Reversing skills course
- Improved reaction times resulting from better ergonomics – seating position, foot placement etc
- All practical exercises are enhanced with drivers learning and applying better use of their eyes

- Correct use of eyes while driving/cornering
- Making sure loose items inside vehicles are secure
- How modern-day ABS braking systems work
- Correct seating and foot positioning
- Cornering techniques – approach, entry, exit
- Cruise control & GPS monitored vehicles
This course content is comprised of 70% practical, 30% theory.
Eligible vehicles: cars, utes, SUVs, vans. Vehicles can be shared by up to 2x people if required.
