How do I make a booking?

Why DriveNZ?
We take a modern, forward-thinking approach to driver training. Our course content is relevant to new vehicle technology and NZs unique driving conditions, and are as fun as they are informative.
Our instructors have over 80 years of combined experience in driver training, medical and rescue. They have seen and dealt with all facets of motoring and are passionate about helping each and every driver they work with.
How exactly do you upskill New Zealand drivers?
Most course participants have learnt to drive with a family member or driving instructor sitting next to them. These are often frought, frustrating and nerve-wracking experience which ultimately leave you with just enough skills to obtain your licence.
In reality there is a whole lot more to being an aware, focussed and competent driver. With the knowledge and practical skills taught by DriveNZ, your driving life will be safer, more enjoyable and more fulfilling.
How much time is spent in the classroom vs. behind the wheel?
We believe there is no more valuable tool than hands-on practical training drills. Experiencing real life road situations first-hand, in a controlled environment, teaches drivers how to react and the skills to minimise the outcome as much as possible.
We split our courses by a ratio of approximately 65-70% practical to 30-35% theory.
Can you assist with corporate bulk group bookings?
If you’re booking on behalf of your company, managing a large number of staff located all over the country can be a bit stressful.
We’re here to help. Simply call or email us to discuss your needs and we’ll allocate each participant to our upcoming courses, then provide you with a single invoice and a list breaking down who/what/where/when to communicate internally with staff.
Do you provide vehicles or do I have to bring my own?
Please bring your own vehicle on the day. It can be a personal or work vehicle – we recommend you bringing the vehicle that is your ‘daily driver’. Our instructors will also provide important tips on type pressures, tyre condition, seating position, mirrors etc which are specific to your vehicle.
I’m under 20 and/or do not have my full licence. Can I participate?
We firmly believe that the best time to undertake practical training is when you’re first starting to drive. We offer our courses to anyone who has a Learners licence and up, so you can learn the correct techniques from day one.
Participants under the age of 20 will receive a 20% discount* on any of our courses.
*applies to private bookings, ID required
Summary
We all share the same roads, and the decisions we make have consequences not only for ourselves but for others as well.
New Zealand roads are busy and challenging, often in need of repair and the majority of our roads are technical and windy, with only a couple of hundred km of motorway sections in the entire country.
On our roads, we face all manner of weather conditions and fellow drivers who are often distracted, impatient, substance impaired and/or with a poor attitude.
Improving attitude, awareness, braking & cornering skills, decision making and understanding as well as simple but important skills such as spacial awareness and depth perception all help in moulding better, more rounded drivers.
We’re here to help. Enjoy the ride.
